David Lee Arnoff (10/14-15)
Princeton Sailing traveled to Hobart William and Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY to compete in
the 10th annual David Lee Arnoff Trophy. This was a combined division regatta sailed by 9
schools where both A and B fleets would race together to make for an 18-boat fleet and sail a
total of 12 races. Saturday’s conditions were light as sailors and coaches mingled on the docks
as we waited for the breeze to fill in from the North around 2 p.m. After a long wait, sailors were
eager to get out on the water and race what would be the only 2 races on Saturday. Sunday
brought us a much stronger breeze that would arrive from the Noth-East and clock around to the
West by the end of the day. Princeton Sailors Asher Green ‘24 and Virginia Cobbs ‘25 in the A
boat and Ossian Kamal ‘26 and Kate Feiner ‘26 would battle through a long, wet, and windy day
to finish 4th overall in a tough fleet filled with varsity sailors. Coach Fraser’s highlight of the
weekend would come in the second to last race of the day as Princeton Boats crossed the line
in 2nd and 3rd place making for a clutch late regatta push to solidify Princeton’s best finish in a
Grade 2 regatta since his arrival in 2021. A huge thank you to Scott Ike and the Arnoff Family
for another fantastic weekend that brought sailors from all across the country for a great
weekend of racing!
