Eckerd Interconference Regatta Report (2/25-26)
Princeton Sailing traveled to St.Petersburg, FL to compete against 9 teams from the SAISA conference this past weekend. The regatta was a two-division fleet race sailed in both 420s and FJs with a combined scoring format over two days. Conditions were light to start the day with a 4-6 knot southerly that would eventually clock West to bring in a steady 10-knot sea breeze. Princeton Sailors Connor Mraz ‘23 and Anna Eaton ‘24 were steady as they posted scores consistently in the top 5 until they caught fire in the 7th race finishing the day 1-1-4-3 and putting the Tigers in 4th place after day 1.
Sunday brought very similar conditions, a light southerly to start the morning and the sea breeze filling in around noon. With a similar forecast to the previous day, Tigers Asher Green ‘24 and Isabella Impalli ‘23 were ready to pounce. Catching their competitors early in the day helped bring Princeton Sailing to a 3rd place overall finish and its 3rd consecutive podium finish in the 2023 Spring Season.
Next week the Tigers shift gears as they head to Washington College in Chestertown, MD to
compete in the Tom Noble Team Race!
