Eckerd Interconference Regatta Report (3/5-3/6)
Princeton Sailing traveled to St Petersburg, FL this past weekend to compete in the Eckerd Interconference event hosted by Eckerd College. 14 teams traveled down south for warmer weather to compete in this SAISA Conference fleet race. Excellent sailing conditions allowed for 12 races throughout the weekend for this extremely competitive field. Princeton’s A fleet boat sailed by Connor Mraz ‘23 and Nelson Chow ‘23 got off to a slow start posting a 13th and a 9th in the first two races. Once settled, Connor and Nelson began to catch fire finishing 5 out of 12 races inside the top 5. Princeton Sailing’s B division boat sailed by Asher Green ‘24 and Anna Eaton ‘24 also struggled out of the gate but improved consistently until they found the winning formula in the 6th race. Overall Princeton Sailing finished the event 7th out of 14 teams as well as beating our two other MAISA conference competitors. Next week Princeton sailing travels to New York Maritime College to compete in the NYC Co-ed Team Race.
