John Quinn Memorial (9/16)
The John Quinn Memorial Regatta is an event that Princeton Sailors and Coach Fraser have enjoyed thoroughly over the past three fall seasons. The wonderful hosts at Shrewsbury Yacht Club, combined with an excellent competition venue that always seems to bring a solid breeze make for a spectacularly fun weekend of sailing.
This year 8 teams competed for the top spot with our usual sparing partners at George Washington, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and Washington College in attendance. Sailors Jasper Waldman ‘25 and Chai Mauliola ‘24 manned the A boat while William Roberts ‘26 and Ellen Toberman ‘25 pushed the pace of racing in B Fleet. A 14kt North-Westerly allowed race management to complete all eight races on Saturday, making it a short but sweet one-day event for competitors. Over eight races Princeton Sailing would accumulate 40pts finishing in 2nd place overall at the event. 8 points shy of the win. A well-sailed weekend by friendly competitors at George Washington made for an exhilarating back-and-forth regatta. Thank you to Coach Nuse and everyone at the Shrewsbury Yacht Club for another great weekend of sailing at the John Quinn Memorial Regatta. Best of luck to our competitors at Monmouth and we will hope to see you in the coming weeks for the Princeton Fall Open.
