Princeton Sailings’ Women’s Team took to Ithaca, NY this past weekend to compete in the MAISA Women’s Conference Championships at Cornell University. A milestone event for Princeton Sailing with this being the first time the team has sent sailors to this event in almost fifteen years. Sailors Carly Mraz ‘25, Calif Chen ‘23, Bracklinn Williams ‘25, and Virginia Cobbs ‘25 fought hard through a long and cold weekend. Conditions on Saturday brought light winds and near-freezing temperatures which made for difficult races against an extremely competitive fleet. Sunday was blustery with 20 knots of winds and periodic snow squalls rolling through the racecourse almost every hour. Although Princeton Sailing finished near the bottom of the score sheet this was an incredibly positive experience for our team. We as a program learned what it takes to compete at the top level in our conference, and with 3 out of 4 sailors being freshmen it is only up from here for the Princeton Sailing Women’s Team!
