Princeton Sailing Competed in the Owen Trophy at the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point in New York this past weekend. Sailors Jasper Waldman ‘25 and Eddie O’Keefe ‘25 sailed in our A division boat with Robert Rubin ‘23 and Chai Mauliola ‘24 in our B division boat. A combined scoring format made for a busy line with all ten boats on the line at once. Saturday’s conditions were tricky to navigate with a ten-knot southwest breeze, showing gusts of twenty knots. With a solid breeze, all twelve races were able to be sailed on Saturday making this a one-day event. Matched up against some difficult competition, Princeton’s A division boat sailed by Waldman ‘25 and O’Keefe ‘25 was able to secure a first-place finish in race five. High hopes for these two freshmen! With a long runway left in their college sailing careers coach Fraser is excited to see what the future brings.
