The John Quinn Regatta Report (9/17-18)
Princeton Sailing traveled to Shrewsbury Yacht Club this past weekend to compete in the John Quinn Memorial Regatta hosted by Monmouth University. Twelve teams from the MAISA conference attended including programs such as the US Merchant Marine Academy, George Washington University, and The Webb Institute of Naval Architecture. Connor Mraz ’23 and Nelson Chow ’23 sailed consistently at the top of the fleet posting 23 points in 10 races. Princeton Sailing’s B boat Asher Green ’24 and Anna Eaton ’24 battled hard against the US Merchant Marines, posting 38 points in the B fleet and securing Princeton Sailing a second-place overall finish! Princeton Sailing Team 2 sailed an incredible event finishing 6th out of 12 boats, improving their result by 5 places compared to last year’s finish. The highlight of the weekend comes from Eddie O’Keefe ’25 and Calif Chen ’23 posting a second-place finish in race 5. A real testament to the hard work that they have put in during practice so far this season. Next weekend is the Princeton Fall Open, Princeton Sailing’s first event at our new home venue Anchor Yacht Club.
