Princeton Sailing also traveled to Christopher Newport University to compete in the Luce Trophy which serves as our fall series conference championship qualifier. A fantastic weekend that had no shortage of strong breeze as a 13-22kt westerly stuck around Newport News, VA all weekend making for exciting racing. Princeton would need to place in the Top 6 at this event to qualify for the following weekend’s conference championship but our sailors had our sights set higher! After two days of racing Princeton Sailing would finish 3rd overall after sparing with the regatta host and its neighboring program Hampton University. A finely sailed weekend secured our spot going into the conference championships where we will look forward to returning the favor to all the varsity programs we managed to beat in the last Springs conference championships.
