Tom Noble Team Race Regatta Report (3/5-3/6)
Princeton Sailing traveled to Chestertown, MD this past weekend to compete in their first event of the spring season. Washington College hosted five teams to battle it out in a triple-round robin team racing event. Conditions were fair, the wind blowing 6-12 knots out of the southeast with temperatures in the mid-50s. Princeton Sailing had a strong showing winning eight of 12 races finishing in 2nd place overall for the weekend. Skippers Jasper Waldman ‘25, Max Lawrence ‘24, and Carly Mraz ‘25 set the tone finishing 1st 2nd and 3rd in our first two races against the University of Delaware and Columbia University. This feat would not have been achievable without the guidance and communication from crew Eddie O’Keefe ‘25, Aliya Ismagoliva ‘22, and Robert Rubin ‘23. A long day of racing and changing conditions called for substitution during the second flight of races. Will Mandelbaum ‘22 stepped in without missing a beat. Next weekend Princeton Sailing travels to New York Maritime to compete in the NYC Co-ed Team race where conditions will be tough and competition will be stiff.
