Washington College Fall (10/14-15)
Princeton Sailing traveled to Washington College to compete in the WAC Fall Open against
in a 16-boat fleet race sailed in FJs. 13 Princeton Sailors made the trip down to
Chestertown, MD both Saturday and Sunday for 2 days of fleet racing. Day 1 brought shifty
conditions to light with a 4-6 kt North Westerly breeze with a medium to solid ebb current for
difficult racing conditions. The standout performance came from sailors Eddie O’Keefe ‘25 and
Skylor Wong ‘26 sailing 4 races for a combined total of 12 points solidifying their 3rd place
position in the B fleet after day 1. Sunday’s conditions brought strong South Easterly Breeze of
13-17kts allowing for 7 races to be completed for both fleets on day 2 of the regatta. Freshman
Skippers Nick Lorenzen ‘27 and Advik Eswaren ‘27 accompanied by crew Cole Crosby ‘26 and
Jaden Smith ‘26 showed a strong performance in their first collegiate regatta finishing 8th out of
16 teams. Overall Princeton teams finished 4th, 7th and 8th with Princeton’s top teams finishing
behind varsity sailors from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and two Naval Academy boats. All
together an extremely fun and successful weekend for Princeton Sailing as we look forward to
the Oberg Trophy sailed at MIT and the Luce Trophy at Christopher Newport University.
