Washington College Team Race (3/18-19)
A strong week of preparation during spring break put Tiger Sailors on the right foot as they
traveled to Chestertown, MD to compete in the Washington College Team Race this weekend.
Saturday conditions were gusty and shifty with a 6-14 knot westerly coming straight over the
Shoreman Clubhouse. Back on familiar waters, the tigers posted a 10-4 record leaving the day
tied for second place against the Naval Academy Midshipmen. Posting a 1-1 record against
varsity Competitors Navy and St.Marys would leave it all to be decided in the third round. Losing
a close race 1-4-6 to the Naval Academy meant that the Tigers would have to leave it all out on
the water against St.Marys if they wanted to reclaim their spot on the podium. Sailors Asher
Green ‘24 and Virginia Cobbs ‘25 lead our Tiger Sailors to a dominating 1-2-5 finish over the
St.Mary’s Seahawks securing our place on the podium for the 4th time this spring. Next week
Princeton Sailing travels to Newport News, VA to compete in the Hanbury Trophy at Christopher
Newport University.
